How to View PDF Corrections with Your CAT Software Open
There are a couple of easy options for reviewing the PDF files you receive from me containing corrections or notes on your transcripts. Choose the one the corresponds to your hardware and software.
TABLET VIEWING
If you have an Android tablet or an iPad, open the annotations file with Adobe Acrobat reader, which is free in the Google Play Store and the App Store. After opening, turn your tablet to landscape view and adjust the zoom to best see the transcript text and annotations. Set up your tablet next to your computer screen with your CAT software open. Enter needed changes in your CAT program.
WINDOWS
Microsoft put a nifty feature in Windows 7 and above. It's called the snap feature and it makes a window take up half of your screen, making it easy to arrange two windows side by side without manually resizing and moving them around. Simply hold the Windows key and press the left or right arrow keys. The current window will be resized and placed at the left or right side of the screen. Open the annotations file with Acrobat Reader and the corresponding transcript with your CAT software. Snap one left and the other right. Adjust the zoom and you'll be able to compare side by side.
MAC
Apple has a great support article to work in split view. After opening both the annotations file (in Acrobat Reader) and your transcript (in your CAT software), use the instructions HERE to view them side by side.
