- The Gregg Reference Manual (Tenth Edition)
- Merriam-Webster.com

You are welcome to send me a sample job to audition my work! I'd be happy to let you take my skills for a test-drive so you're fully confident that we will work well together. I believe in the value of developing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with my clients.

WHAt software do you use / do you print my pages?
SCOPING
I work in Case CATalyst. I can scope with no audio, spot check or full audio. I do read steno.
PROOFING
I am able to work with reporters in any CAT software with PDF proofing. You can receive your notes/corrections back via an annotated PDF (only pages with corrections are returned). I no longer offer errata sheets as a proofing option and do not print transcript pages for proofreading so that I can maintain a cost-effective, eco-friendly business.
I can also provide in-software proofing in Case CATalyst.
I insert scan stops for any items that need your attention unless you prefer a different method such as turning on "track changes."

What about my agency preferences or personal style choices? How do you work with those?
When you hire me, I will provide you with a preference sheet to fill out so I know how you like to handle things like by lines, blurbs, numbers, quotes, etc.
What are your turnaround times?

WHAT KINDS OF CORRECTIONS WILL YOU MAKE IN MY TRANSCRIPT?
A list of possible things that can go wrong in a transcript could fill an entire volume! That's why the punctuation reference books are so big.
For a sampling of the types of issues I scout out, see this page.

DO YOU WORK WITH VOICE WRITERS?
For proofing, the answer is always yes. For scoping, I ask for a chance to review a transcript before accepting it since the work differs a bit from a transcript created with machine stenography.
CAN You proof to audio?
Yes. Please contact me, specifically stating you are interested in this service, and we can discuss your needs.
What are your rates?
My rates are in line with the median in this industry. I will work hard for you so you will always get your money's worth!
Please contact me to discuss specific rates for your next job.

Can I wait to pay you until I get paid by my agency/client?
Because I am always working with a number of proofreading and scoping clients, it isn’t feasible for me to hold invoices or place an individual client on a separate billing cycle. Because I have a regular billing cycle with established clients, there is already extra time built in between the completion of a job and when your payment will be due.
